Little Things - St. Patrick's Day Edition

While St. Patrick’s Day may not technically be considered a “little thing” it sure does make this girl happy! Having studied abroad in Ireland in college, anything that reminds me of the Emerald Isle holds a special place in my heart. This holiday is, of course, taken very seriously in Boston and my friends and I jumped at the opportunity to celebrate with plenty of green, drinks, and fun all around. So here are a couple of the little St. Patrick’s Day things that made it a special and fun weekend!

1. Green Rice Crispy Treats – Sustenance for the festivities!

2. Miniature Green Top Hat – Silly yet, oh so perfect.

3. Perfect March Weather in Boston

Spring has come early here & that made running around

the city decked out in green just that much more amazing.

4. "If you see leprechauns, stop drinking!"

Saw this on a local liquor store sign and it seemed like an appropriate warning.

*Wish I had more pictures, need to invest in a better camera...any suggestions out there??

Wait...so work doesn't have a spring break?

As someone who has been out of college and in the “real world” for nearly three years (I can’t talk about it, it hurt to even type that) I find it’s been hard coming to terms with the fact that I no longer get spring and summer breaks. Never fear though friends! This sad reality does not stop me from coming up with what I still endearingly call my “school vacation shopping list”. This year I’m jumping on the trend bandwagon and have decided that the following are must haves in my life (unchecked boxes indicate current deficiencies...why doesn't Santa come when it's warm too?) :

Oh hello perfect little wedges. I will wear you everywhere and anywhere,
I hope you're in it for the long haul. (Yes, I talk to my shoes. No, it’s not a problem.)

Admittedly, I have a fear when it comes to lipstick but this spring I’ve decided to
take a stand and ease into it with these pretty colors: Pink Velvet & Crystal Cut Coral

This is one of many in my collection. Flowy tanks are the staple behind 99%
of my warm weather outfits and if I get them in every color then I never have to
think about an outfit again. Easy peazy lemon squeezy man.

I was hesitant with these at first but the more I see them
the more my love for them grows
.

I mean, do these even need an explanation?

Hi, my name’s Michelle and I’m…

I'm a Container Store addict. There, I said it.

Though this statement may not shock my family and friends (and would do nothing but please my equally OCD mother) it is becoming more and more of a reality in my life.

What is there not to love…Adorable and absolutely necessary office supplies? Check. Closet organizers that make you wish your closet was the size of your bedroom? Check. Mason jars that you’re not sure what to fill with yet but obviously need at least 10 of? Check.

Though I’m starting to worry for both my mental health and my wallet nothing stops me from drooling over every catalog and email they send me.

Recently I spent a lovely evening reorganizing my closet with hanging shelves that I found on my doorstep as if it were Christmas morning (or I ordered them, it’s hard to differentiate between me buying myself things and Christmas sometimes). It came out fabulously if I do say so myself:

Ooos and aahs may commence now.

Here are just a few other things currently on my Container Store wishlist:

Candy, cookies, sugar, cereal…this thing is just dying for me to fill it with treats.

If this isn’t the most attractive way to store shoes then I don’t know what is.

A classier alternative to the usual cork bulletin board (in my professional opinion).

Loving a woven laundry basket may not make me the coolest person ever

but I think it’d at least make doing laundry a little less like torture.

Little Things

I’m the type of person whose mood is easily impacted by little things. A kind compliment on an outfit I spent time planning the night before or someone surprising me by buying my morning tea and you’ve instantly got a grinning girl. So, I thought I’d take a minute and share a couple of the little things (since that is the name of my little ole bloggy after all) that are pleasing me to pieces right now.

Saw these beauties while grocery shopping and I couldn’t resist.

I just love this lil guy cheerfully watching me work away at my desk.

Just a few of the Softlips chapsticks that I hoard.
This stuff is designed by angels, I promise you.

I have officially deemed Essie's Play Date the perfect
spring/summer nail color. Get used to seeing this friends.
