Doppelganger

My friends can attest to the fact that I often have weird interactions with people. Strangers will approach me in public places to have weird/concerning conversations and I usually struggle to find my way out of the exchange. My mom has told me it's because I have "kind eyes"...so I guess that's good?

The most recent weirdness came when someone sent me a YouTube video because they could've sworn it was either me or my sister in the video.

1. I do not have a sister.
2. How can you tell what she looks like under that sassy hat?
3. I need to seriously reassess my "look" if this is what people associate me with.

Thank goodness it's a long weekend is all I can say to that! Have a fantastic Labor Day weekend frands!

Throwback Thursday

Freshman year pretties
Eight years ago the powers to be at QU paired us four girls up and I couldn't have asked for a better group of ladies. We lived together for all four years and I miss them dearly now that we live in different states.

The good news is that I will be reunited with my girls in less than a month!!

First, I'll be flying out to San Diego to see my darling Jessie who I haven't seen in over a year (too long!). Then, just one weekend later, I'll be making the trek over to Long Island to celebrate the marriage of Whitface to her incredible fiancé Joe (they've been together since high school...aww!). Annndddd we'll be dancing the night away with the last of our foursome, Liz, who of course will also be at the wedding!

That's all three of my ladies in a two week period and I CANNOT wait. See ya soon friends :)

Rock and Roll Yard Sale

According to an article in the Boston Globe last week my fair city has become almost too hip to function. We're number two in the nation of residents between the ages of 25 and 34, just behind Hoboken. We even beat Cambridge...hazaah!

This weekend Union Square hosted an event to really drive that point home...a Rock and Roll Yard Sale! There were food vendors, live music, dozens of stands selling old vinyls, vintage clothes everywhere, and more hand made jewelry than you could dream of.

Naturally, I had to stroll down to see what's up. Even though I didn't end up making any purchases it was fun to walk around and look through everything and people watch.

Love you Somerville and your crazy hipster population!

Francesca's Collection

Francesca's Collection is one of my favorite go-to places when I'm looking for gifts for my girlfriends. The stores have a fun boutique-y feel to them and they always have a great selection of clothes, jewelry, shoes, and knick knacks.

This year my brother and his girlfriend generously gave me a gift certificate to the store and I have been adding to my wish list on the site ever since.

I want the self control to pace myself with the gift card so I can have some leftover funds to get a winter treat but a much larger part of me just wants to go in and make a killing all at once. Decisions, decisions...am I right?
