Life Lately

I've been saying it in the past couple of posts but life's been really crazy lately. But it's the good kind of crazy. 

The kind of crazy where I'm swamped at work but finally happy with what I'm doing. 

The kind where I'm getting a lot of dates with friends full of laughter and good talks. 

The kind where birthday parties don't question party hats and all attendees wear them with complete seriousness. 

And the kind where family dinners involve home made apple pie and a fire with Mumsy and Papa Dukes.

For someone who claims to not be a big birthday person I've sure been posting about it a lot....

Oh well, this is the last one I promise. I just have to thank all my friends for the kind birthday wishes and especially my family for making yesterday so fun.

Mama Dukes, we did good on our shopping mission yesterday. Thank you so much for making it such a fun day! Baby brother, thanks to you and Kathryn for making the trek all the way up from Connecticut for dinner. Papa Dukes, thanks for dinner and cake and for being the best guy I know. You've set the bar high sir.

The Big 2-6

Today's my 26th birthday...wahoo!

I've never been much of a birthday person. I blame this on having grown up with a summer birthday which resulted in most of my friends being away on vacation for my childhood slumber parties.

But this year we made it a joint birthday celebration! Steve, Maddie, and myself celebrated our respective birthdays as all adults should...with a piñata and Justin Bieber birthday banner!

 
My lovely roomies and some all star friends started the celebrations with a BBQ and shuffleboard and the party continued for the rest of the evening on our roof. Not too shabby frands, not too shabby.

So a big happy birthday to my fellow birthday-ers Steve and Maddie! I'll be spending the remainder of my big day shopping the outlets with Mama Dukes and having dinner with my family.

Let's make it a good one 26! (pretty please)

Birthday Wishes

The big 2-6 is right around the corner and mumsy was kind enough to talk me into taking the day off work to have a girls day with her (she just knows what a girl needs).

We're gonna hit up the outlets and have lunch and get manis/pedis and whatever other lady things we can think of. I'm really excited to have this time off with her and I've decided that this year I will indulge myself in a "happy birthday to me" present!

Being the planner that I am, I've been researching some of my favorite things and though I probably won't be able to actually get myself to spend the money on these big ticket items I'm using them as inspiration on our outlet shopping hunt. They're just so pretty...
