September you're going to be a good one:

3 weeks till back in NY
4 weeks till Providence Half Marathon

Purple Cake and Homemade Pizza - That's What Dreams are Made Of

These past few days I've been living life in the fast lane!
Orrrrr I passed out early Friday night and spent Saturday at my 5 and 6 year old baby cousins birthday party.

But you know what? Sometimes you just need to chill out (and save some cash moneys) and I really loved my low key weekend.

Plus I'm pretty sure my gifts were the kids favorites because they would not put them down and that makes me one happy girl!

Then, to start the week off on a high note, we spent Monday evening bow tie shopping and buying quality ingredients at Trader Joe's for another creative pizza night. Is this what being a grown up is?

I was admittedly mildly terrified of our autumn themed squash pizza but I'm always a sucker for a good theme. And guess what you guys, it was delicious!

I'm basically ready to compete on Top Chef (if that means I get to supervise over my glass of wine and get tasked with cutting things - sharp knives are a big deal!)

Here's to the rest of the week going swimmingly!

Birthday shenanigans - what's up purple cake and purple ice cream

Squash Pizza - acorn squash, apples, peas, mushrooms, caramelized onions, cheddar and mozz cheese
YUMMM

Our masterpiece!

Fenway Franks are the Key to My Heart

Last night I was lucky enough to snag some Red Sox vs. Yankees tickets behind home plate thanks to my lovely Papa Dukes. And who am I to say no to some pretty sweet free tickets? (even if baseball isn't really the Sox's sport this season)

I always love going to baseball games, the atmosphere and comradery inside the parks is one of my favorite things ever!

I also find that it's fun to turn the evening into an eating and drinking marathon. The trick, my friends, is to pace yourselves. My favorite stadium staples are:

- Personal Papa Gino's Pizzas (the box then doubles as a "K" sign - more bang for your buck kids!)
- Fenway Franks (if you don't get one of these at Fenway you're not a real person)
- soft pretzels (does anything go better with overpriced beer than a giant soft pretzel??)

Then on your way out its almost mandatory to get a sausage from street vendors to congratulate yourself for a job well done and to delay fighting the mob trying to get back on the T.

So, even though the Sox put up a valiant fight lost to the Evil Empire last night it will always be a fun night out for coaching from the stands and consuming as many calories as humanly possible. Can't wait for hockey season to start to work on the Garden's delicious food staples!

Sitting behind home plate qualifies you to coach from the stands.

My overexcited attempt to photograph Bobby V yelling at an ump.

Mamma Mia We Made Pizza!

Big news from Club Belmont! Last night was impromptu pizza party night at my humble abode and nothing caught fire wahoo!

Some people may claim that cooking is not my strong suit but after craving pizza for the past two weeks I finally got myself some Trader Joe's pre-made dough (it's genius I tell you!) and every topping I could think of. We decided on two pizza themes: 1. Mexican 2. everything else and let me tell you what...opening a pizerria may be my next big career move.

After a few missteps involving transferring the very heavy pizza onto the very hot stone I'm proud to say that they both came out amazing and we happily feasted on my porch with as much pizza as we could eat.

This may have to be a monthly event now that I have a 100% success rate (2 out of 2 ain't too shabby in my book)!

Mexican Pizza
(salsa, beef, mexican cheese, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce)

Everything Else
(mushrooms, yellow peppers, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, beef, mozzarella, goat cheese)

My Feast!
Is it dinner time again yet?
