It's raining, it's pouring...

I just heard the news that this has been the 4th rainiest June in Boston so far! Cool cool cool, summer.

To achieve such an accomplishment it's been raining every couple of days here. This has given me the perfect excuse the unfortunate side effect of me cutting back on my half marathon training (I wish this worried me more like it should). And, yes mom, I know my gym has treadmills. Stop looking at me with your judging eyes!

So, after getting soaked through Monday trying to make a run for my car after an unpredicted monsoon (keep up the good work weathermen!) and again on Tuesday because I was just getting stubborn, I slipped into my typical coping mechanism: A completely unneccessary internet hunt for cute rain gear! Because honestly what else are you supposed to do at night while marathon-ing crime dramas with your roommates (does that sound like a cry for help to anyone else? - beau come back now please!)?

Living Room Reorg

Recently I've been overwhelmed with the desire to redecorate our living room.

Don't get me wrong, I love our home to bits, but after an impromptu furniture reorg after taking down our Christmas tree I've been wanting to do more. A little more styling, a little more decorating, a little more everything to make it look more put together and comfortable to relax in.

Luckily making little inspiration boards is one of my favorite things so I thought I'd throw one together of pieces I'd like in my home that I'm currently on the hunt for on the cheap.

Shopping Detox

So after avoiding opening bills for a few days a good hard look at my credit card bills from the holiday season (ouch) I've decided to try and NOT buy any new clothes for at least two months. (Reserving funds to only be used for bills and activities a la dining out, movies, and getting my bowl on)

Care to take the shopping detox plunge with me?

As a sucker for all emails containing the word "SALE" and pretty consignment shop windows that I just happen to walk by I'm a little worried I'll break.

Butttt I'm feeling very committed to this especially since yesterday I started making a pile of clothes to donate because my closet was too full (it no longer looks this organized and it stresses me out).

7 days in and I'm still at a 100% success rate!! Boom.

Oh well, it'll help make my room feel more together and organized by wrangling all my blankets and blow dryer, straightener, curling iron etc!

This year I tried to organize and be early with my Christmas shopping. I started December 1st and have been hitting the mall and online shopping ever since.

In typical "I have undiagnosed OCD" fashion I tried to organize with two lists this year: per person & per my favorite things and then matched the two up.

My lists generally cover lots of people from 'For Her', 'For Him', 'Kids', to 'Coworkers' (and sometimes mayyy be inspired by things that I would love to have). So I thought I'd share some of my lists this year to help mid-December shoppers!

Today I have my list of favorite gifts "For Her" that I love to give to family and friends. The bonus is that all these cuties are under $100 because this girl's on a budget frands!

Sweet Dreams

Thanks to Anthropolgie being kind enough to email me about their 25% off bedding sale I've found myself suddenly wanting nothing more than a new bedding set. In the past 22 hours since receiving the great bedding news of 2012 I've spent an unhealthy amount of time walking through their store touching all their gorgeously soft blankets and compiling wish lists in my Firefox bookmarks.

I'm currently leaning towards a white/ivory/cream neutral theme and since I know you all want to see what I've wasted dedicated my time to lately, here are my current bed inspirations from around the interwebs.
