Friday Funny

I'm now in my third year of residence at Club Belmont and I really love my apartment.

We have an awesome location, a killer place, and all six of us get along freakishly well...all the makings of a perfect living environment. That is, until our new upstairs neighbors moved in in September and made us want to wage a full on, passive aggressive war against them.

These hood rats throw parties all weekend, every weekend. I can appreciate a good party but when it sounds like you may just be rolling your refrigerator around upstairs because you've been enjoying adult beverages since 8 in the morning we have problems.

Not wanting to call in a noise complaint yet we (KRo and I) decided the next logical option was to leave them this:

I think it says "you're the worst" in a fun, artistic sort of way. Because I'm about two parties away from being elderly and knocking a broom handle against our ceiling.

Psh, kids...

It's a Club Belmont Birthday!

Today I'd like to take a moment to remember all those we lost twelve years ago and thank all those who put their lives at risk in order to help others, showing how good people truly are...

On a different note...today we get to celebrate my roomie Mike's 28th birthday! I've known Mike since I was born (thanks to our parents being friends) and he's had to tolerate me ever since because his sister and I insisted on being best friends. We'll be honoring his birth by going to a local watering hole that offers delicious pizza and pitcher specials - aka Club Belmont's jam.

This inspired me to finally whip up a batch of Earl Grey Infused Gin last night (gin and tonic is Mike's beverage of choice). I've been dying to try making it at home ever since I got my first taste down in NYC and it's was surprisingly easy enough for even this girl to throw together.

Watch out friends, there may be infused alcohol under everyone's Christmas trees this year now that I think I'm crafty!

Ingredients

Steep four tea bags in the gin for two hours - I know it looks gross but trust me, so worth it
Use your fancy new funnel set to transfer your gin to a clean, new bottle.
Mix with some tonic water and a lemon and enjoy!

I'm Back! And I have pretty pictures!

I have been very bad with my little blog here. There's lots of reasons why this guy has fallen by the wayside a bit: work is bananas, I became obsessed with my apartments group blog, and there were wedding festivities galore.

So I thought I'd jump back on here with a few pictures I have on my phone from this weekends wedding of one of my oldest and dearest friends! The bride was stunning, the venue was gorgeous, the food was incredible, and the open bar encouraged some of our best dancing skills to come out as we danced the night away.

Congratulations Nora and Andy! I love you more than words can express, can't wait to hear all about the honeymoon!

Life Lately

I've been a bad little blogger again due to my recent endeavor over at Club Belmont. We're busy little bees who apparently were in desparate need for a hobby...

Anyways, I have a little photo recap of life lately ranging from the Bruins, Super Bowl Sunday, Superstorm Nemo, VDay (Offensive, I know. The holiday got the beau and I to participate this year), and some kitchen and restaurant experimentations.

Happy mid February kiddies - fingers crossed for no more snow!

Bruins • Too many Super Bowl Sunday dips for two people • Nemo bevs • Cards Against Humanity to carry us through the storm • Disney Power Hour (aka sing along) • Friends camping out with us during the storm • Shovel, shovel, and shovel some more • VDay Rose • Chalkboard Table at Brunch • Too dark picture of Muqueca • Grilled Cheese BLT Experiments •

And I leave you with a cool shot of Nemo from my roofdeck

Club Belmont's Christmas Tree

Since Saturday marked the official first day of December and there was light snow fall we decided it was the perfect winter day to get Club Belmont's Christmas Tree.

Last year we had a magnificent small fake tree because the thought of dragging in a tree bigger than us seemed like a lot of extra work. But thanks to our new roomies a real tree was to be had this year!

So we packed up the Jeep with whoever was available (four out of six ain't bad!) and as many holiday tunes as Pandora had to offer and we were off to cut down our own tree!

Oh yes, we're no wimps buying precut trees over at Club Belmont, we cut those bad boys down Griswold family style. (note: I was somehow allowed the honor of carrying our tree saw - basically a lumberjack now)

After several laps around the lot lost in our indecision we finally found the perfect one to bring home with us. We each took a turn cutting it down and it's a beauty!

Just got to decorate it and make it look like Christmas exploded in our house now, at least it smells heavenly in the meantime!

Club Belmont's tree drying off in it's new home - welcome friend!
